House Republican calls on Mike Johnson to “be better” ahead of another possible shutdown.

Mike Johnson claims Biden pardoning Hunter ‘irreparably damage’ trust in the justice system after undermining justice system for Trump.

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) calls on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to “be better” as the government is once again on the verge of a partial shutdown on March 1.

“We need to get into the mode of getting things done, not punting things and pushing it off in the future,” McHenry told CNN’s Manu Raju, according to a clip shared by Mediaite.

McHenry is optimistic that the House will be able to pass a bill to avert a partial shutdown but said, “it’s time to get on with the deal rather than dither.”

“Look, we need the Speaker to be better,” he added. “As a House Republican, I want him to succeed.”

In three days funding for the departments of Agriculture, Energy, House and Urban Development, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs, and other programs, will run out.

Funding for the rest of the government, including the departments of Defense and State, will expire on March 8.

Congress is currently on recess. Senators will return on Monday, House members are scheduled to get back Wednesday evening. This means lawmakers do not have much time to pass funding bills which haven’t even been released yet.

The lack of any concrete plans means Congress will likely pass another continuing resolution to keep the government open.
