Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is suggesting that the Biden administration was behind the attempt on Donald Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In the summer of 2024, 20-year-old Michael Thomas Crooks climbed on top of a nearby building at the rally stop and took eight shots at then-Republican presidential nominee Trump. One attendee was killed, two others were wounded, and a bullet grazed Trump’s ear before a Secret Service counter sniper killed Crooks.

In an interview on the Pod Force One podcast this week, Luna told New York Post columnist and host Miranda Devine that the assassination attempt was likely an “inside job” by the Biden administration.

“I think that there was a lot there, specifically what was interesting about the Butler assassination. And I’ve said this before. I think that was intentional negligence,” Luna said.

“We actually had whistleblowers from within the Secret Service that came out that stated that, you know, they were basically not present or told to stand down,” she continued. “The area that was left open was literally the perfect location to take a shot and basically assassinate someone. And then you have this aspect of the Biden administration that, you know, basically gave limited staffing to a former president with Secret Service.”

Investigations conducted by both the Biden and the Trump administrations conclude that Crooks acted alone and without motive, but Luna is not convinced and laid the blame squarely on the Biden administration.

“What happened to the other burner phones, and also, if this was just some random, you know, lone shooter, why did he have burner phones? What happened to his video game console? I mean, there’s a lot outstanding, and I’ve actually shared this before, that to me, that has all the marks of intelligence, and I believe, an inside job. That’s literally what I think is the ultimate revelation of that,” Luna said.

Last year, Luna was selected to lead a task force focused on declassifying federal secrets, including documents on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy Jr. The congresswoman was ridiculed after revealing at a press conference that she would like to speak to the members of the Warren Commission as part of her investigation, failing to realize that every member of that commission is dead.
