Republican Rep. Carlos Gimenez (FL.) suggested that Georgia congresswoman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) should have her “head examined” after she claimed Democrats can control the weather.
“Humans cannot create or control hurricanes,” Gimenez wrote on X in response to Greene’s post. “Anyone who thinks they can, needs to have their head examined.”
Last week, Greene wrote on X “yes they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.”
Greene’s post was sent after Hurricane Helene ravaged six southeastern states, including Georgia, leaving more than 200 people dead and millions in property damages.
Now, a second hurricane, Milton, is barreling towards Florida a week after Helene.
Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall late Wednesday and bring a life-threatening storm surge.
