Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) wants the Nobel Committee to also consider Melania Trump for the award.
In an interview on Fox News, Luna claims the First Lady should be nominated for the award because she is “very instrumental in discussions with Russia.”
“I think that Melania Trump might also have a nomination,” Luna told Fox News host Charlie Hunt. “I think that she’s been very instrumental in discussions with Russia. And also, too, I think that she’s going to be a key reason why we’re able to broker peace with Ukraine.”
Earlier this month, the First Lady allegedly wrote a letter directly appealing to Russian president Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
“Dear President Putin,” she wrote. “Every child shares the same quiet dreams in their heart, whether born randomly into a nation’s rustic countryside or a magnificent city-center. They dream of love, possibility, and safety from danger.”
Of course, Luna also said Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Look, President Trump just secured a win with some of the largest tax cuts in history. Not to mention, he’s going to be capping prescription prices,” she said. “And also, he’s continuing to broker world peace, so much so that literally hundreds of monks have nominated him, including world leaders, for the Nobel Peace Prize.”
The claim about monks nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize is false.
“If the Nobel Peace Prize committee knows what’s good for them, they’d do the right thing and nominate him,” Luna added.
