Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr suggested on Sunday that mainstream media outlets are sabotaging his campaign by turning off potential voters with their coverage.
RFK Jr told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that he has been slammed “even more than President Trump was slammed” by the media. This comes as Kennedy, a longtime vaccine skeptic, is facing backlash for recent comments he made suggesting that COVID-19 was “ethnically targeted” to spare Jews and Chinese people.
“I’ve been really, you know, slammed in a way that I think is unprecedented,” RFK Jr. said. “I mean, listen, if I believed the stuff that’s written about me in the papers and reported about me on the mainstream news sites, I would definitely not vote for me. I would think I was a very despicable person.”
RFK Jr launched a longshot bid against President Joe Biden for the Democratic party nomination in 2024. However, his campaign has failed to gain any traction, maybe because he is actually more popular among Republicans than Democrats.
