Roger Stone was served with papers relating to a Capitol riot lawsuit during a live radio interview on Wednesday while discussing Donald Trump.
Stone was speaking on a St. Louis radio broadcast, “Tomorrow’s News Today with Joe Hoft & Kell Brazil,” about Trump running for office again in 2024 when he interrupted himself saying a process server was knocking on his door.
“Hold on a second, I have a process server at my front door about to serve me in the latest lawsuit,” Stone said in an audio clip posted on Twitter.
Stone could be heard telling the process server, “It’s still a fraud, doesn’t matter.”
He returned to the interview and told the hosts, “I have just been served in the Jan. 6 lawsuit — live, right here on your radio show. This is a big, big stack of papers, which is good, because we’re out of toilet paper today.”
One of the hosts of the show could be heard saying, “holy smokes.”
The lawsuit was filed by seven Capitol Police officers in August and accuses Stone and other Trump allies of spreading false claims of election fraud that ultimately led to the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, as well as promoting and helping to fundraise for the “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the attack, according to The Hill.
The officers are seeking punitive damages from the defendants, with the amount to be determined by a jury if the case goes to trial.
