Former White House physician turn Republican congressman Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) called Joe Biden a “cancer” on Sunday after it was revealed that the president had cancerous lesions removed from his chest during a physical last month.
“Biden is the cancer. He’s what needs to be removed, not the lesion they found,” Jackson told Fox News on Sunday. “But this is just another effort from his physician and from his medical team to distract.”
Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, said on Friday that the president had a basal cell carcinoma lesion removed from this chest last month and that no further treatment is necessary. O’Connor also found Biden to be “fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.”
However, that was not enough for Jackson who dismissed the report as “useless information” and reiterated his call for Biden to do a cognitive test to show that he is capable of doing the job as president.
“All we care about in this country with regards to President Biden — 80 years old, who’s got some obvious cognitive issues — is a cognitive assessment of some sort,” he said. “We want something on the record to prove to us he’s cognitively capable of doing this job, and it’s almost a moot point at this stage, because we all know he’s not.”
Jackson was first elected to Congress in 2020 after he became infamous for praising Donald Trump’s “excellent” health in 2018 and said the then-president—despite his diet of fast food— could live to be 200-years-old because of his “good genes.”
Trump later nominated him to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, but Jackson withdrew his name from consideration over allegations of workplace misconduct.
