Santos wants community service instead of jail time: Jail "is not a pretty place."

Former GOP congressman George Santos is worried about going to jail and would “happily” accept a deal where he gets community service instead.

Santos faces multiple federal charges including wire fraud, credit card fraud, aggravated identity theft and falsifying records.

In an interview with CBS New York’s Marcia Kramer, Santos said he is afraid of going to jail and is working to avoid that fate.

“I think everybody should be afraid of going to jail,” he said. “It’s not a pretty place and I want to work to avoid that as best as possible”

Santos, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, says he has “no idea” what he could offer federal authorities to prevent going to jail but, he’s “going to negotiate the best” he can.

“If [community service] is what they’re offering I’ll do it happily,” Santos added.

The House of Representatives expelled Santos on a 311-114 vote earlier this month. The expulsion came weeks after a damning House Ethics Committee report accused him of breaking federal laws and misusing campaign money. Santos reportedly used campaign cash to pay for botox treatments, OnlyFans, as well as luxury Italian goods and vacations.

Santos is the sixth member of the House ever to be expelled and the first in 21 years.

“The emotions are always up and down and you go through the highs and lows,” Santos told Kramer in the interview about his expulsion. “The historic value of this and it’s still slowly settling in.”

Since his expulsion Santos has started selling videos on Cameo at $500 a pop.
