Scott Bessent heckled at DC restaurant.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reportedly fled a restaurant in Washington D.C. after he was heckled by a woman.

NOTUS reported that while Bessent was dining with a guest at the Adams Morgan restaurant, Olivia DiNucci, a restaurant patron, repeatedly struck her glass to get the secretary’s attention and mockingly toast him.

Bessent called DiNucci ignorant and asked staff why they weren’t stopping the scene. He left the restaurant shortly after complaining, visibly upset.

DiNucci told a NOTUS reporter who was at the restaurant at the time that she was protesting the Trump administrations sanctions.

“He’s eating in this nice restaurant in Washington, D.C., when sanctions cause starvation across the world,” she said. “We should be confronting them with our voice as much as we can because people across the world are affected by this.”

A source close to Bessent said he left the restaurant “precisely because the restaurant owner refused to respect other diners and remove the heckler in question. Also, the food sucked.”
