Fox News host Sean Hannity said Donald Trump should go right ahead and pardon himself and all the members of his family as protection from the ‘witch hunt’.
Speaking to a former member of Donald Trump’s ‘elite legal team’, Sidney Powell, whose client, Michael Flynn just received a full pardon from Trump, Hannity said: “The president out the door needs to pardon his whole family and himself, because they want this witch hunt to go on in perpetuity. They’re so full of rage and insanity against the president… I assume that the power of the pardon is absolute, and that he should be able to pardon anybody that he wants to.”

Powell told Hannity that she doesn’t know if Trump can pardon himself before adding that any conversation about Trump issuing a pardon to himself is unnecessary since he will get four more years in the White House.
Hannity’s comments are similar to those made by Rep. Matt Gaetz last week. The crux of both their arguments is Trump and his family did absolutely nothing wrong, everything was above board. However, they need to pardon themselves because if they don’t, they’ll be at the mercy of liberals who are out for blood.

But, there is a limit to presidential pardons. While a pardon may allow Trump and his family to dodge federal crimes, it does not apply to state crimes. Plus, as Sidney ‘Kraken’ Powell points out, Trump does not have the power to pardon himself.
