Education Secretary Betsy DeVos tendered her resignation on Thursday citing the breach on Capitol Hill but, Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren was more than happy to see her go.
Some cabinet officials are reportedly discussing invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office. Warren said DeVos’ departure at such a crucial time should come as no surprise since she never helped students and would rather quit than “help invoke the 25th Amendment”

“Betsy DeVos has never done her job to help America’s students. It doesn’t surprise me one bit that she’d rather quit than do her job to help invoke the 25th Amendment,” Warren wrote. “Good riddance, Betsy. You were the worst Secretary of Education ever.”
Sen. Warren and DeVos sparred on Twitter last year after a federal judge criticized DeVos for flagrantly violating a court order to stop collecting loan payments from students of a for-profit college that closed amid scandal.

DeVos is the second Trump cabinet official to resign following the storming of the US Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump on Wednesday. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao tendered her resignation as well, citing the breach on Capitol Hill.
