Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz) reportedly mocked President Joe Biden and praised members of the Republican party including far right Republican Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.) at a D.C fundraiser, while she was in talks with the Biden administration about Build Back Better.
According to excerpts published by Axios from ‘This Will Not Pass‘, an upcoming book by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, Sinema mocked Biden, “spoke warmly” about House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and defended far-right GOP Rep. Biggs at the private fundraiser with a Republican-heavy group of lobbyists in D.C.
“I love Andy Biggs,” she said. “I know some people think he’s crazy, but that’s just because they don’t know him.”
Biggs is one of the staunchest election deniers in Congress, pushing the big lie that widespread election fraud contributed to Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election. Biggs also claimed ANTIFA was responsible for Jan. 6 despite evidence saying otherwise.
The Arizona congressman was caught on tape last year thanking Sinema and Manchin for killing Biden’s key domestic economic agenda.
“Fortunately for us, the filibuster is still in effect,” Biggs said in a video posted by liberal activist Lauren Windsor. “Without that, we would be dead meat. And this thing would be — then we’d be having a little bit more frantic discussion than we’re having today. Thank goodness for Sinema and Joe Manchin.”
