Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) slammed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) for her comments defending Jack Teixeira, the Air National Guardsman, who was arrested Thursday for leaking classified files.
Following Teixeira’s arrest, Greene claimed on Twitter that he was targeted by the Biden administration because he is “white, male, christian, and antiwar.”
Swalwell fired back in his own tweet, slamming Greene, whom he referred to as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s “top lieutenant” for “siding with one of the biggest traitors America has seen.”
“I’m sorry, Marge, being white, male, and Christian is not license to betray your country and put the lives of thousands at risk,” he added. “But this wouldn’t be the first time she sided with traitors.
Greene has been criticized by Democrats for defending members of the pro-Trump mob that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
