More than 300,000 people visited vote.gov after Taylor Swift endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the General Services Administration (GSA) said 337,826 visitors had been referred to the voter information website through Swift’s custom link as of 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after her endorsement.
Swift endorsed Harris in a lengthy Instagram post where she also encouraged her fans to do their own research and register to vote in the upcoming election.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift said in a post on Instagram to her more than 283 million followers.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” she continued. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
In an interview with Fox News on Wednesday morning, Trump said he was not a fan of Swift.
“She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,” he said.
