A middle school teacher in Georgia has been arrested after he allegedly threatened to behead a Muslim student who said she was offended by the Israeli flag hanging in his classroom.
Benjamin Reese, 51, a seventh grade teacher at Warner Robins Middle School was arrested on Dec. 8 after nearly two dozen people told police he was shouting threats at a student in the hallway.
According to the incident report obtained by CNN. the student asked Reese about an Israeli flag hanging in his classroom. Reese told the student he is Jewish and that he has family members who still lived in Israel.
The student told him that she found the flag offensive due to “Israelis killing Palestinians.” That’s when Reese got angry and accused her of being antisemitic.
Witnesses say they heard Reese yelling, “you motherf****ing piece of s**t! I’ll kick your a**! I should cut your motherf****ing head off!”
He also said, “he would kick her f*****g a**, slit her god***n throat and drag her a** outside and cut her head off,” one witness said
Another teacher said they heard Reese saying “she is a stupid mother****r, and I will drag her by the back of my car and cut her f***ing head off for disrespecting my Jewish flag.”
Other witnesses said Reese yelled, “you don’t make an antisemitic comment like that to a Jew,” and that he would “slit her f***ing throat.”
Reese was arrested on charges of making terroristic threats and cruelty to children in the third degree. He posted a $7,500 bond and was released from jail on Monday.
“While we are not able to discuss specific personnel matters, we can share that Mr. Reese has not been on the campus of Warner Robins Middle School since December 7, 2023,” the Houston County School District said in a statement. “Safety and the well-being of our students and staff is our number one priority.”
