Ted Cruz’s daughter grimaces as he praises Trump: “Don’t clap for that”

Not every member of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) family was happy about Donald Trump’s re-election.

During his victory speech on Tuesday night after winning reelection in Texas, Cruz said, “I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be reelected president of the United States.”

The crowd and Cruz’s wife Heidi Cruz clapped.

But, Cruz’s 16-year-old daughter Caroline visibly grimaced at the mention of Trump’s name while standing beside him on stage . Moments later, she appeared to tell her mother, Heidi, “Don’t clap for that.”

During the 2016 Republican primary Trump publicly insulted Heidi Cruz several times, including calling her “ugly” while he and Ted Cruz battle for the GOP nomination.

Cruz went on to endorse Trump and became one of his staunchest defenders in the Republican Party.

Caroline made headlines in 2021 after she made a TikTok saying she disagreed with most of her father’s views, before her account was set to private.
