Sens. Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, both from Tennessee have endorsed Donald Trump for president.
“Under President Trump, our economy was booming, gas prices were low, and inflation was under control. Our border was secure, our adversaries feared us, & our military was strong,” Blackburn wrote in a tweet. “I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President and can’t wait until he’s back in the White House.”
Hagerty expressed similar sentiments in a statement, claiming that under Trump “we engaged with strength, & we encouraged our allies to stand strong with us.”
“I look forward to working again with President Trump to help our great nation find its way back from the precipice to the exceptional role we can and must play as a nation,” Hagerty wrote.
“It is my honor to give my whole-hearted endorsement to Donald J. Trump to be the next President of the United States. I was honored to previously serve in his Administration,” he added.
Nearly a dozen GOP senators have endorsed Trump for president since he announced last November.
Recent polling shows Trump extending his lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the GOP primary, though the governor is yet to officially announce he is joining the race.
