Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) said the solution to mass shooting in schools is to arm teachers.
Paxton told Newsmax that “having potentially teachers and other administrators be armed” would help stop future attacks before authorities arrived.
“First responders typically can’t get there in time to prevent a shooting. It’s just not possible unless you have a police officer on every campus,” he said. “I think you’re going to have to do more at the school.”
Paxton’s comment comes after an 18-year-old gunman murdered 15 people, 14 children and one teacher, at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday.
The school teaches 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students.
