Three active duty Marines were charged in connection with the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol on Jan. 6.

Authorities arrested Micah Coomer, Joshua Abate and Dodge Dale Hellonen this week on misdemeanor charges, according to the Associated Press.

The charges are related to disorderly conduct while intending to disrupt government business, entering a restricted building and parading or picketing on the U.S. Capitol grounds.

Their arrest came after fellow Marines helped investigators identify them in footage from Jan. 6.

Court documents say Coomer also posted an image to Instagram that was taken inside the Capitol with the caption “Glad to be apart of history.” In late January 2021, Coomer told another user on Instagram that “everything in this country is corrupt” and “I’m waiting for the boogaloo.” When the person asked what’s “a boogaloo,” Coomer responded “Civil war 2.”

All three men are active-duty Marines. Coomer is stationed Camp Pendleton in Southern California; Abate is at Fort Meade in Maryland; and Hellonen is stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

Maj. Kevin Stephensen, a spokesman for the Marine Corps told the AP that they are aware of the charges and “is fully cooperating with appropriate authorities in support of the investigation.”
