Three killed in University of Virginia campus shooting, police say.

Three people were killed and two others injured in a shooting on the main campus of the University of Virginia on Sunday night.

Police say the shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. on Culbreth Road, near a campus parking garage. Police identified the suspect as Christopher Darnell Jones, Jr. and said they were still searching for him.


The university’s president Jim Ryan said in a statement Monday morning that Jones is a student at the school.

Multiple agencies are searching for Jones, who is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police say Jones was wearing a burgundy jacket, blue jeans, and red shoes. They said he could be driving a black SUV with Virginia plates.
