Rep. Tim Ryan has won the Democratic primary for Senate in Ohio, according to a race call from The Associated Press.
Ryan defeated Democrats Morgan Harper, Traci Johnson, and LaShondra Tinsley.
Ryan is running for an open seat in the state after Republican Sen. Rob Portman announced last year that he would not seek reelection.Ryan will face the winner of the Republican primary in November.
While Ryan was a clear winner on Tuesday, things are more competitive in the GOP primary where Trump endorsed Hillbilly Elegy author J.D. Vance.
