Tim Scott dodges question on whether he will accept 2024 election results.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) refused to say whether he will accept the results of the 2024 presidential when pressed repeatedly on Sunday.

Scott, who is reportedly on Donald Trump’s short list of potential running mates, was pressed repeatedly on Sunday’s Meet the Press by host Kristen Welker about whether he would accept the results of the election and he dodged the question—SIX times.

Welker started off by asking Scott how he could consider being on a ticket “where there’s such a fundamental difference?” noting that Scott voted to certify the election while Trump is still falsely claiming that the election was stolen from him.

“President Trump himself said he expects this election to be fair,” Scott responded. “He expects it to be honest, and he expects to win. That’s what the presidential candidate should expect. And I expect the exact same thing. And frankly, the American people agree with him.”

Welker then asked Scott whether he would commit to accepting the results of the 2024 election.

“Will you commit to accepting the election results of 2024, bottom line?” Welker asked.

“At the end of the day, the 47th president of the United States will be President Donald Trump,” Scott said.

“Wait Senator,” Welker said, “Yes or no? Will you accept the election results of 2024 no matter who wins?”

“That is my statement,” Scott responded.

Welker continued pressing.

“Just yes or no: Will you accept the election results of 2024?” she asked again.

“I look forward to President Trump being the 47th president. Kristen, you can ask it multiple times,” he said, as Welker cut in again asking for “just a yes or no answer.”

“The American people will make the decision,” Scott replied. “And the decision will be for President Trump.”

“I don’t hear you committing to the election results. Will you commit to accepting the election results?” Welker asked again.

Scott attacked NBC claiming it is an extension of the Democratic party, “at the end of the day, I’ve said what I’ve said, and I know that the American people, their voices will be heard. And I believe that President Trump will be our next president.”

Welker repeated the question, noting that Scott is a potential VP nominee.

“Will you accept to commit to the election results in this election cycle, no matter who wins? Just simply yes or no,” she said.

“I expect President Trump to win the next election. Listen, I’m not going to answer your hypothetical question,” Scott replied.
