Tomi Lauren: 'The only thing that will save Gavin Newsom is voter fraud'

Despite the recent polls showing Californians opposing the Republican-backed effort to recall Gov.Gavin Newsom (D), Fox News pundit Tomi Lauren claims the only way Newsom can remain in power is if there is voter fraud.

“Yes, Gavin Newsom has raised a whole lot of money from teachers’ unions and special interests and tech, but that money is not going to save him,” Lauren said. “The only thing that will save Gavin Newsom is voter fraud. So, as they say, stay woke. Pay attention to the voter fraud going on in California because it’s going to have big consequences not only for that state, but for upcoming elections.”

Republicans and right-wing media have continued to use baseless allegations of voter fraud to not only explain Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election, but other GOP losses as well.

Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Times reported that California “conservatives talk about the recall effort through the lens of Trump’s lies that he won the 2020 election.”

Larry Elder, the leading Republican candidate in the recall effort is already signalling how he plans to respond if Newsom survives the effort to oust him from office.

“The 2020 election, in my opinion, was full of shenanigans,” Elder said. “And my fear is they’re going to try that in this election right here and recall. So I’m urging people to go to ElectElder.com. Whenever you see anything, hear anything suspicious, go to my website. We have a battery of lawyers. We’re going to file a lawsuit in a timely fashion this time.”

He repeatedly entertained the idea that Dominion Voting Systems interfered with the presidential election and told a caller on his radio show that he “wouldn’t put it past” the company to rig the California tally, Media Matters reports.
