Sen. Tommy Tuberville announced Tuesday that he is lifting his monthslong hold on most military promotions.
Tuberville told reporters that he has lifted his hold on all military promotions below three-star, which amounts to over 400 promotions.
“I’m releasing everybody. I still got a hold on, I think, 11 four-star generals. Everybody else is completely released from me. But other than that, it’s over,” Tuberville told reporters, according to NBC News.
Tuberville has been under fire since February due to his hold on military promotions to protest a Pentagon abortion policy. The policy reimburses female service members who are forced to travel out of state for an abortion.
