Tommy Tuberville reports former CIA director to Capitol police over tweet.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) has reported former CIA Director General Michael Hayden to the Capitol Police on Tuesday over a post he made on social media.

In the post on Twitter Hayden wrote, “how about the human race”? in response to a user asking if Tuberville should be removed from his committee assignments due to his hold on military promotions.

Hayden doubled down in another post on Tuesday morning, writing: “I was surprised to wake up this morning and discover that many MAGAnuts had lost their minds over my suggestion that ‘Coach’ Tuberville not be considered a member of the human race. I stand by that view.  I’m wishing you all a nice day even the intransigent Tommy Tuberville.”

In a statement Tuesday, Tuberville accused Hayden of calling for a “politically motivated assassination.”

“This statement is disgusting and it is repugnant to everything we believe in as Americans,” Tuberville continued. “Given General Hayden’s long career in Washington, he must have known that, by making such a statement, he was committing a serious crime. His own efforts today to reinterpret what he said are only a tacit admission of guilt.”

“My office has reported this incident to the Capitol Police and I expect that they will once again do an excellent job protecting members of Congress and bringing criminals to justice,” Tuberville added.

Tuberville has been under fire since February due to his hold on military promotions to protest a Pentagon abortion policy. Criticism of the senator’s actions has heightened in recent days following the attack on Israel by Hamas militants.

Despite the attack, Tuberville is refusing to back down on his blockade of more than 300 military officers including several who would lead US troops in the Middle East.
