Trudeau: Not a “snowball’s chance in hell” Canada would merge with the US.

Outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dismissed Donald Trump’s suggestion that Canada merge with the United States.

“There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States,” Trudeau wrote on X.

“Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner,” he added.

Trudeau’s comments come as Trump has been saying for weeks that Canada should become the 51st state and even going as far as to refer to Trudeau as governor.

Trump has also suggested that the U.S. take control over Greenland, which is a territory of Denmark, and the Panama Canal.

At a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday Trump told reporters he wouldn’t rule out using military action to take control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, but said with Canada he will use “economic force.”

“Canada and the United States, that would really be something,” he said. “You get rid of that artificially drawn line, and you take a look at what that looks like, and it would also be much better for national security.”
