Roger Stone, the long-time Republican operative and close ally of Donald Trump, used an anti-gay slur to describe Kamala Harris’ running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Stone used the offensive language to describe Walz during Tuesday’s episode of his show The Stone Zone with Roger Stone, while discussing Harris’ path the Democratic nomination for president, according to watchdog group Media Matters for America.
“Now we have the illegal coup in which Joe Biden was forced out — increasingly talking openly about it and seems quite angry to me. Followed by this nondemocratic process in which she was selected as the nominee for president, even though not a single Democrat in the country voted for her, in any primary, or any caucus,” Stone said.
“And now she’s picked, this guy, Tim Walz. Saw him at a rally. I mean, I hate to quote, Mel Brooks, in Blazing Saddles, but he was jumping around like a Kansas City faggot,” he added. “This guy — really, really weird.”
The Harris-Walz ticket is promoting joy on the campaign trail since the first day Walz joined Harris on stage and thanked her “for bringing back the joy.” Walz’s positivity has spread throughout the party giving supporters a jolt of new energy that has kept the momentum going.
Since Biden stepped down from the top of the Democratic ticket and endorsed Harris, people who support Trump, a man who tried to steal the 2020 election, have been accusing Democrats of staging a coup.
Polling shows that message is not resonating with voters. 45% of registered voters in seven swing states say Harris earned her position while 42% say the same of Trump.
Additionally, 55% of voters in those seven states say that Trump is weird compared to just 39% for Harris.
