Two prominent Michigan Republicans have been criminally charged in connection with accessing and tampering with voting machines after the 2020 election, according to the Associated Press.
Matthew DePerno, the failed Trump-backed candidate for Michigan attorney general and former GOP state Rep. Daire Rendon were both charged with undue possession of a voting machine and conspiracy.
They were arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
A state judge ruled in July that it is a felony to take a voting machine without a court order or permission directly from the Secretary of State’s office.
That felony is punishable by up to five years in prison, AP noted.
