Donald Trump announced Friday that he will debate presumptive Democratic presidential nominee ,VP Kamala Harris, but only on Fox News.
The Trump campaign had previously agreed to a September debate with President Joe Biden hosted by ABC News. But in a post on Truth Social Friday, Trump said that agreement no longer applies since Biden decided to leave the race. He also cited his lawsuit against ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos claiming it created a “conflict of interest”.
Trump is now proposing that the new debate be held on September 4 in Pennsylvania hosted by Fox News and moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.
Trump said the debate will operate under the same rules he agreed to with Biden, but this debate will have an audience.
“I spent Hundreds of Millions of Dollars, Time, and Effort fighting Joe, and when I won the Debate, they threw a new Candidate into the ring. Not fair, but it is what it is! Nevertheless, different Candidate or not, their bad Policies are the same, and this will be strongly revealed at the September 4th Debate,” Trump wrote.
Harris previously said she plans to stick to the original debate schedule set by the Biden campaign.
But, at a campaign rally in Atlanta she dared Trump to debate her saying that if the former president has something to say to her he should “say it to my face.”
