Trump booed at U.S. Open men’s final.

Donald Trump was met with a chorus of boos by tennis fans at Sunday’s U.S. Open men’s final match.

According to reports, when Trump was shown briefly on the jumbotrons at Arthur Ashe Stadium during the singing of the U.S. national anthem fans responded with an audible cascade of boos.

There were some attendees who cheered, but the overwhelming reaction to Trump’s presence at the game were jeers and boos.

The men’s final between Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz was delayed 30 minutes due to enhanced security measures for Trump’s visit.

The crowd’s reaction came after the United States Tennis Association sent a memo to media partners requesting that they censor “disruptions or reactions” in response to Trump.

“We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity,” the USTA said in the memo, first reported by the Bounces tennis blog.
