Trump breaks silence on Mark Robinson’s scandal.

Donald Trump commented for the first time on Thursday on the scandal surrounding North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson.

“Uh, I don’t know the situation,” Trump told a reporter when he was asked if he planned to pull his endorsement of Robinson.

In a stunning report published last week, CNN revealed that Robinson made several sexually explicit and racially charged comments on a porn website’s message board, including calling himself a “black NAZI, expressing support for slavery, repeatedly using homophobic slurs and fondly recalled “peeping” on women.

During a rally in March, Trump endorsed Robinson calling him “Martin Luther King [Jr.] on steroids,” “better than Martin Luther King,” and even “Martin Luther King times two.”

CNN reported last week that Robinson referred to King as a “fucking commie bastard,” “worse than a maggot,” a “ho f**king, phony,” “huckster” and “Martin Lucifer Koon” in his alleged posts.

Robinson has denied the report, saying the porn message board comments were not made by him and is ignoring calls to drop out of the race.

Since the report was published, three GOP governors have withdrawn their endorsement, and the Republican Governors Association revealed that it does not have plans for additional ad buys for the race.

Several top staffers including the campaign manager, finance director, deputy campaign manager, and senior adviser have also resigned from Robinson’s campaign.
