Donald Trump is calling for all the Republican lawmakers who joined Democrats to block a GOP-led effort to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to be primaried.
Last week the House voted 225-196 to table the resolution introduced by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) to censure Schiff, according him of “exploiting his positions on HPSCI (House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence) to encourage and excuse abusive intelligence investigations of Americans for political purposes.”
Twenty Republicans joined Democrats to kill the effort. In a post on his Truth Social site on Saturday, Trump praised Luna and called for the 20 GOP lawmakers who opposed the censure to be primaried.
“Anna Paulina Luna is a STAR. She never gives up, especially in holding total lowlifes like Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff responsible for their lies, deceit, deception, and actually putting our Country at great risk, for which he should be imprisoned!,” Trump wrote. “He is a Leaker and a Scoundrel. Any Republican voting against his CENSURE, or worse, should immediately be primaried. There are plenty of great candidates out there!”
Luna plans to reintroduce the resolution this week with some changes to try and get more support from Republicans.
