Trump orders Republicans to block investigation into Capitol riot.

Donald Trump called for an immediate end to the debate in the House about creating a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection.

“Republicans in the House and Senate should not approve the Democrat trap of the January 6 Commission. It is just more partisan unfairness and unless the murders, riots, and fire bombings in Portland, Minneapolis, Seattle, Chicago, and New York are also going to be studied, this discussion should be ended immediately,” Trump said in a statement, according to the Hill.

“Republicans must get much tougher and much smarter, and stop being used by the Radical Left. Hopefully, Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy are listening!” he added.

Both Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Minority Whip Steve Scalise plans to oppose the legislation to create a 9/11 commission to investigate Trump’s role in the insurrection. Despite their opposition, the House Problem Solvers Caucus say they plan to support the legislation.
