Trump campaign suspends most TV spending to "review and fine-tune" campaign strategy.

Donald Trump’s re-election campaign has suspended a majority of its TV ad spending to review and fine-tune their campaign strategy ahead of this November’s presidential elections.

A top campaign official told NBC News:

With the leadership change in the campaign, there’s understandably a review and fine-tuning of the campaign’s strategy. We’ll be back on the air shortly, even more forcefully exposing Joe Biden as a puppet of the radical left-wing.”

Just so we are clear, the Trump campaign is freezing a majority of its TV spending because their attacks on Joe Biden being a puppet of the ‘radical left-wing’ weren’t landing, so they are going to take some time off and come back where they will once again try to expose Biden as…..a puppet of the ‘radical left-wing’???

If it appears that these people don’t have the slightest clue as to what they are doing, it’s because they don’t. These people are a bunch of novices, who got lucky in 2016. And have been trying to run Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign using the 2016 playbook, failing to realize that Trump is no longer the Washington outsider promising to blow up everything. He’s on the inside and Washington is much worse today than it was before he got there.

The campaign may have changed leadership but their tactics pretty much remained the same. Under Brad Parscale, the Trump campaign vowed to protect Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer statue from the left-wing mobs. Under Stepien, the campaign vowed to protect you from pro-democracy protesters– in 2014—in Ukraine.

The Underdog

They have no idea how to run an election as the incumbent because they are so used to being the underdog. That is why they are spending millions of dollars on ineffective campaign ads showing violent protests in the streets and labeling it Joe Biden’s America, even though Trump is president. Because it makes more sense to them to try and create this alternate universe where Biden is the incumbent and Donald Trump is the one looking to unseat him.

It also doesn’t help their case when Donald Trump, the incumbent destroys his re-election chances every single time he opens his mouth.

It’s never a good sign to be reviewing and fine-tuning campaign strategy less than 100 days before the elections. Not with all the advantages that come from being the incumbent. This is not a good look. At this point, the campaign should already have a clear strategy.

While the Trump campaign is halting spending in key swing states like Michigan, where he’s trailing Biden by the way. The Biden campaign is increasing its spending in the state.

The Trump campaign is struggling, they have absolutely no idea how to run a campaign as the incumbent– they tend to be a referendum on the sitting president and this one is as unpopular as they come. Instead of trying to make Biden appear as a ‘puppet of the radical left-wing’, they should try to get Donald Trump to the job he was elected to do. If they can’t then they’ll spend the next 90 odd days reviewing and fine-tuning their campaign strategy.
