Donald Trump claimed the courtroom where his criminal trial is underway is purposefully kept cold in a new conspiracy theory.
Trump, who faces 34 felony counts for allegedly falsifying business documents over hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, told reporters on Friday that “they” are keeping the room where he on trial cold “on purpose.”
“We have another day of court in a freezing courthouse — it’s very cold in there, on purpose, I believe,” Trump said. “They don’t seem to be able to get the temperature up. It shouldn’t be that complicated, but we have a freezing courthouse and that’s fine. That’s just fine. Let ’em keep handing it out. There’s a rigged trial. Thank you very much.”
Trump’s attorney has reportedly asked New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan to turn up the heat, but Merchan explained that the old courthouse can’t control the temperature, so it’s either sit in chilly courtroom or a hot one.
Trump is required to be in court for the duration of the trial, which is expected to be up to six weeks.
