Donald Trump says the country had delivered him and Republicans an “unprecedented and powerful mandate” during a victory lap early Wednesday morning despite only Fox News calling the race.
“This is a moment like nobody’s ever seen before. Frankly, this was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. There’s never been anything like this in this country,” Trump told supporters in Florida.
According to the New York Times, Trump is also on track to potentially win the popular vote, something no Republican candidate has done in 20 years.
“Winning the popular vote was very nice, very nice, I will tell you,” he said. “It’s a great feeling of love.”
“America has given us a powerful and unprecedented mandate,” he added.
