Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday to tell his supporters that he hates Taylor Swift days after the superstar endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris.
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” the former president wrote.
Trump’s post comes days after Swift endorsed vice president Kamala Harris in a post on Instagram.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift said in the post to her more than 283 million followers.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” she continued. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Trump had previously shared AI-generated images on social media that showed Swift and her fans supporting him. Swift cited the types of images as a reason she went public with her endorsement.
Following the endorsement, a spokesperson for the General Services Administration (GSA) said 337,826 visitors had been referred to vote.org, the voter information website, through Swift’s custom link in less than 24 hours.
“Donald Trump’s week of whining and spouting conspiracy theories has voters on both sides of the aisle ready to forget that he existed,” Harris-Walz campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said in the statement in response to Trump’s Truth Social post.
“The American people want to be out of the woods of the chaos and division of the Trump era, leave behind the blank space of Trump’s broken promises, and begin again by electing Vice President Harris to ensure America’s future of opportunity is long lived,” she added.
