Trump declares "I'm a very innocent man" after guilty verdict in hush money case.

Donald Trump walked out a Manhattan courtroom Thursday and declared that he’s an “innocent man” minutes after he was convicted in his hush money trial.

“This was a disgrace, this was a rigged trial,” Trump fumed. “Our whole country is being rigged right now. This is being done by the Biden Administration in order to hurt or wound a political opponent.”

Trump has repeatedly pushed the false claim that President Joe Biden is behind his prosecution despite it being a state case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“This is a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people,” Trump said, adding “they know what happened here and everybody knows what happened here. You have the [George] Soros D.A. The whole thing. We didn’t do a thing wrong. I’m a very innocent man.”

Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal alleged affairs during his 2016 campaign minutes before his remarks. The conviction makes him the first former U.S. president to become a convicted felon.

His sentencing date is set for July 11. Trump could face jail time, but first-time offenders on similar charges rarely put behind bars.
