Trump denies falling asleep at public events: “They’ll catch me with the blink.”

Donald Trump is denying ever falling asleep at public events in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, in which he also defended his health.

On several occasions last year, Trump clearly struggled to keep his eyes open, including during televised meetings with his cabinet and meetings with officials in the Oval Office. But, according to Trump, people have simply caught him “blinking.”

“I’ll just close. It’s very relaxing to me,” he said. “Sometimes they’ll take a picture of me blinking, blinking, and they’ll catch me with the blink.”

Trump’s sleeping has become such an issue that, according to the report, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and others have urged cabinet members to shorten their presentations.

Yet, Trump said he’s never been a big “sleeper” and officials say he is often communicating with aides into the wee hours of the morning as he catches up on Fox News interviews.

Trump, 79, the oldest person to assume the presidency, also defended his health during the interview with the Journal. There are new questions about his well-being after he began appearing in public with bruised hands and tried to cover them with heavy makeup and bandages while also shielding them from cameras. Observers also noticed that there is a hole in Trump’s bruised left hand.

He blames the aspirin he takes to thin his blood for the bruises.

“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart,” Trump told the Journal. “I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”

Overall, Trump claims he is in “perfect” health due to his “good genetics.”
