Trump-endorsed candidate J.D. Vance said the former president might be ‘America’s Hitler’ in leaked text messages.

Ohio Republican senate candidate, J.D. Vance who was recently endorsed by Donald Trump called the former president ‘America’s Hitler’ in leaked text messages.

Vance’s former Yale Law School roommate Georgia politician Josh McLaurin (D) shared a screenshot of the text message he received from Vance in 2016 as Trump rose in popularity within the Republican party.

“But I’m not surprised by Trump’s rise, and I think the entire party has only itself to blame,” Vance texted. “We are, whether we like it or not, the party of lower-income, lower-education white people, and I have been saying for a long time that we need to offer those people SOMETHING (and hell, maybe even expand our appeal to working class black people) or a demagogue would. We are now at that point.”

“Trump is the fruit of the party’s collective neglect,” Vance wrote. “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler. How’s that for discouraging?”

Vance criticising Trump is not surprising. In fact, he was a critic of Trump until he decided to run for office and realized that the path to the Senate as a Republican goes through Donald Trump.

Trump endorsed Vance on Friday in the competitive Republican primary in Ohio and even alluded to the fact that Vance was not his biggest fan in the past.

“Like some others, J.D. Vance may have said some not so great things about me in the past, but he gets it now, and I have seen that in spades,” Trump said. “He is our best chance for victory in what could be a very tough race.”

However, Vance might have said some harsh things about Trump before but, he never compared him to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
