Trump held a contest for small donors to have dinner with him, but no one won.

Donald Trump’s PAC reportedly held a contest for small dollar donors, offering them a chance to dine with the former president, but no one won the prize.

According to the Washington Post, Trump’s Save America PAC sent small donors emails promising a plane ticket, a stay at a “very nice hotel,” and a meal with the former president in New Orleans if they donated “any amount.”

However, sources told the Post that no one won the prize. Trump met with top GOP donors who donated tens of thousands of dollars each to the PAC instead.

Taylor Budowich, Trump’s spokesperson told the Post that no winner was chosen because of an administrative error.

“President Trump has awarded more than 100 prizes to contest winners across America, but due to an administrative error in this individual circumstance, the contest winner was not properly notified for last weekend’s event in New Orleans,” Budowich said “Consistent with the rules of the sweepstakes, a substitute prize will be awarded to the winner.”

Budowich did not say what that substitute prize is.

However, Trump contradicted Budowich in a statement on Saturday, calling the Washington Post report “fake news.”

“A winner from Save America PAC WAS chosen for dinner and that winner, and family, will soon be coming to Palm Beach, Florida,” Trump said.

Earlier reports cited the email saying the winner of the contest would dine with Trump in New Orleans, not Palm Beach.
