Donald Trump is reportedly considering joining Gettr following the poor performance of his social media app,Truth Social.
According to the Washington Post, Trump has “privately fumed” about Truth Social’s failure to attract a large audience since its launch in February. A source told the outlet that former congressman Rep. Devin Nunes, the head of Truth Social, has been attempting to assuage Trump’s concerns about the app by giving him frequent briefings. However, Trump continues to avoid posting on the app because he believes it is not “ready for prime time.”
The source also told The Post that Trump is now considering joining Gettr — a competitor to Truth Social lead by his former aide Jason Miller.
Truth Social was plagued by technical difficulties shortly after its launch. Some potential users were placed on waitlists after finding themselves unable to create accounts, this was after they experienced some difficulties downloading the app.
This week, Truth Social’s technology chief Josh Adams, and its head of product development, Billy Boozer quit.
Trump was kicked off mainstream social media platforms following the January 6 Capitol insurrection. He announced the launch of Truth Social in October to “stand up to the tyranny of big tech.”
