Donald Trump is reportedly very furious with Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist and MAGA influencer, for ruining his chances of winning over Black voters, NBC News reports.
Kirk has come under fire recently for questioning whether Martin Luther King Jr. deserved a federal holiday and questioning the qualifications of Black pilots.
“Trump is fucking pissed that Charlie is out causing problems for him in the Black community,” an unnamed person close to Trump told NBC.
Several people in Trump’s circle have warned him about Kirk’s conduct including one of the former president’s most vocal Black allies, Pastor Darrell Scott.
Scott told NBC News that he has heard people close to Trump express concern that Kirk’s rhetoric could turn off Black voters.
“I’ve got to say, racism is like the word ‘ugly.’ I can’t always describe it, but I know it when I see it,” Scott said. “That boy’s a racist right there.”
But, Donald Trump Jr. a close ally of Kirk denies that his father is angry with the right-wing provocateur.
The idea that Kirk is in anything less than “great standing with both my father and the entire Trump campaign” is “nothing more than fiction coming from people jealous of the close relationship Charlie has built with our family,” Trump Jr said.
