Trump is reportedly telling allies his ex-pal Musk is “a big-time drug addict.”

Donald Trump has been privately telling his allies that his former ‘first buddy’ Elon Musk is a drug addict.

Trump and Musk’s relationship unraveled this week over Musk’s criticism of Trump’s so-called ‘big, beautiful bill,’ his signature legislation currently under consideration in the Senate after narrowly passing the House.

Musk called the bill a “disgusting abomination” and urged lawmakers to “KILL THE BILL.” He also supported calls for Trump’s impeachment and said Trump was “in the Epstein files” which is why his administration hasn’t followed through on his campaign promise to release the files because they would implicate him.

In response Trump said Musk was “wearing thin” by the end of his time at DOGE and “went CRAZY!.” Trump also threatened to cut government contracts for Musk’s companies.

According to the Washington Post, Trump has been calling his allies behind the scenes and referring to Musk as an “addict.” On at least one of those calls, a source told The Post that Trump called Musk a “big time drug addict.”

Trump is also asking aides and advisers if they believe Musk’s recent  behavior could be related to his alleged drug use.

Last week, the New York Times reported that Musk was a frequent user of the drug ketamine during the 2024 campaign. Musk has told people he took ketamine so frequently that it affected his bladder, and he has also used ecstasy and magic mushrooms The Times reported, citing unnamed sources.

Musk said at the time that The Times was “lying” adding that he “tried prescription ketamine a few years ago and said so on 𝕏, so this not even news. It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but haven’t taken it since then.”

Trump also defended Musk telling reporters, “I don’t want to comment on his drug use. I don’t know – I don’t know what his status is,” adding that the Times report “sounded very unfair.”
