Trump Mobile blames government shutdown for gold-colored phone delay.

Trump Mobile has postponed delivery of its gold-colored T1 smartphone, blaming the latest government shutdown for the delay.

Trump Mobile announced last month that it would push back its plans to ship the smartphones by the end of the year. A customer service representative for the wireless carrier told CBS News that T1 Mobile’s new shipment date is mid to late January, due to the government shutdown.

“The T1 has been delayed due to the government shutdown,” the customer service rep said. “They had to pause everything on the FCC side of things.”

The Trump Organization announced the phone service and smartphone in June and has been promising to release the gold-colored cell phone, set to cost $499, since August.

The company also said Trump Mobile would offer a monthly service plan for $47.45 per month.

According to reports, customers who have already paid the initial $100 deposit have reported little to no communication from Trump Mobile providing updates on their orders.
