The New York Times reported Saturday that as Donald Trump continues to struggle to figure out an effective line of attack against Kamala Harris he has resorted to calling her derogatory names in private.
Two people who have heard Trump made those remarks told the Times he referred to Harris as a “bitch” repeatedly in private over the least three weeks since she replaced President Joe Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket.
However, Trump’s spokesperson Steven Cheung denied that this is language Trump would use to describe his opponent.
“That is not language President Trump has used to describe Kamala, and it’s not how the campaign would characterize her,” Cheung said
Trump’s foul mood comes as Harris surges in the polls amid renewed Democratic enthusiasm after Biden stepped aside. The Trump campaign has been unable to land any attacks so far to halt Harris’ momentum.
