Donald Trump admitted in a TIME interview that he regrets nominating Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court because they are not loyal to him.

“Yeah. What can I do? I put them in,” Trump told Time magazine when he was asked whether he regretted nominating the three justices to the Supreme Court.

“They vote against me often,” he continued. “The Democrats stick like glue—those three, they virtually never vary. You can come up with the worst thing in the world, and they’ll vote as a group. And while I don’t like it, there’s something I admire about it: there’s loyalty. So they have loyalty to [former President] Barack Hussein Obama. They have loyalty to [former President Joe] Biden.”

Trump took issue with the Supreme Court’s rulings on birthright citizenship and tariffs.

In June, the court struck down Trump’s executive order that sought to end automatic birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to undocumented or temporarily present parents.

In February, the Supreme Court also struck down most of Trump’s tariffs by rejecting his expanded use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose tariffs on nearly every country.

Barrett ruled against the Trump administration in both decisions, while Gorsuch ruled to strike down his tariffs and Kavanaugh ruled to strike down his executive order to end birthright citizenship.
