Trump says he won't participate in virtual debate.

Donald Trump made it clear on Thursday that he would not be participating in a debate with Joe Biden after the Commission on Presidential debates said the second debate will be held virtually.

“No I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate,” Trump said in a telephone interview with Fox Business Thursday. “That’s not what debating’s about.”

So instead of attending the virtual debate, Trump is planning on hosting a rally instead even though he is positive for the coronavirus.

Joe Biden’s campaign agreed with the decision to hold a virtual debate even though the campaign made it clear that the debate commission did not consult them before making the decision.

Donald Trump’s decision to not participate in the debate is quite bizarre considering the fact that he’s trailing Joe Biden in every poll and therefore robbing himself of the opportunity to bring his message to the American people, specifically undecided voters. Holding a campaign rally instead of attending the debate is ill advised and not just because he has the coronavirus but politically he has nothing to gain–the attendees at his rally have already made up their minds to vote for him.

But maybe making decisions like this could explain why they they are so far behind in the polls.
