Trump says impeachment made him worse.

Donald Trump said on Sunday that being impeached twice actually made him worse.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Sunday, Trump compared calls for his impeachment to that of former Attorney General Bill Barr, who the former president said changed after there were calls to impeach him.

“He became a different man when the Democrats viciously stated that they wanted to impeach him,” Trump said of Barr according to The Hill.

“They went wild. We want to impeach him. We’re gonna impeach Bill Barr. We’re gonna impeach him. He became different. I understand that. I didn’t become different. I got impeached twice. I became worse,” Trump said as the crowd applauded.

“I became worse,” he repeated for emphasis.

Trump was impeached twice by the House during his one term in office. He was impeached in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress for withholding aid to Ukraine in exchange for dirt on then candidate Joe Biden.

He was impeached a second time in the final weeks of his presidency for incitement of insurrection following the deadly January 6 Capitol riot.

He was acquitted by the Senate in both cases. However, he remains the only President in U.S. history to be impeached twice.
