Trump says McConnell has a ‘death wish’ and insults his wife in Truth Social rant.

Mitch McConnell says he would support Trump in 2024.

Former President Donald Trump escalated his attacks on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) on Friday night suggesting that he has a “death wish” for supporting legislations backed by Democrats and insulted his wife.

In a rant posted on his social media app Truth Social, Trump asked if McConnell is approving “Democrat-sponsored bills” because “he hates Donald J. Trump, and he knows I am strongly opposed to them, or is he doing it because he believes in the fake and highly destructive green new deal, and is willing to take the country down with him?”

“He has a DEATH WISH,” Trump added.

It is not clear which ‘Democrat sponsored bill’ Trump is referring to but on Thursday the Senate passed a stopgap bill to keep the government funded until Dec. 16. Several Republicans, including McConnell, supported the measure.

Trump also attacked McConnell’s Asian American wife, Elaine Chao, writing that the Senate minority leader must “immediately seek help and advise from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!”

Chao served in the Trump administration as Transportation Secretary before she resigned the day after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol on Jan.6.

Trump’s spokesperson Taylor Budowich defended the former president’s post on Friday saying it was “absurd” to suggest the post could be dangerous.

“Mitch McConnell is killing the Republican Party through weakness and cowardice. He obviously has a political death wish for himself and Republican Party, but President Trump and the America First champions in Congress will save the Republican Party and our nation,” Budowich said in an email to NBC News.
